Charnwood Stoves is a family-run company specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of high-quality wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.
Charnwood are the oldest British stove manufacturer, founded as A J Wells & Sons Ltd, on the Isle of Wight in 1972 by Alfred Wells and two of his sons, and remains a privately owned, family-operated company now run by second and third generations of the family who are dedicated to providing products of enduring design and quality. Their stoves are still built at their factory on the Isle of Wight, using a combination of high-tech precision machinery and skilled handiwork. The company ethos remains to buy, where possible, from local UK-based suppliers.
Some of the company’s employees have been with them for well over 40 years and have seen them grow from producing a few hundred stoves a year to making tens of thousands of units sold worldwide. Charnwood were awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2009 and The King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2024.
As well as this, every Charnwood model is built with ease of use and convenience in mind, both big and small. Firstly, the need for multiple air controls has been eliminated thanks to their patented quattroflow air system. One lever does everything. Not only that, but the touch points are heat-resistant.
Charnwood stoves are ClearSkies certified and feature their own revolutionary BLU technology. This helps significantly reduce particle emissions while ensuring high efficiency and easy, controllable operation, all with a superior flame picture.

Charnwood are confident of their manufacturing process and the bodies of Charnwood stoves are covered by a 10-year guarantee, when purchased through us, an official, authorised stockist and registered using the code. Additionally, they offer a 3 year no-quibble guarantee for all consumables. This includes glass, fire brick and rope seals (for stoves not registered using the code a standard 1-year guarantee is available, which does not include consumables).
